The flat on Ringvägen
You are reading this three years after we signed the lease. I want to know if the radiator in the kitchen still knocks at night, and whether you ever fixed the shelf. Mostly I want to know if you stayed. I hope you stayed, but I will understand if you did not.
One year of running
Today was day one. 2.4 km, walked most of it. If you kept going, good. If you stopped, the shoes are in the hallway closet behind the vacuum. Either way, go outside after you read this.
Written the night before the interview
I do not know yet whether I got the job. By the time this opens, it will not matter which way it went. What I want you to remember is how badly you wanted something, and that wanting it was not embarrassing.
How a letter holds its date
A letter to yourself or someone else, and a date. It is encrypted in your browser before it leaves.
Nobody can read it before the date. Not the recipient, not us. The key does not exist yet. A gift, if you attached one, sleeps with it.
On the day, the recipient gets an email and the letter opens. Public ones join the board.
Seal a little something with it.
Five dollars of ether for your kid's eighteenth. Twenty for yourself in 2031. It sleeps with the letter, nobody can touch it early, and on the day it opens together with the words. What it is worth by then is part of the surprise.
